About The Artist

My name is Jordan Neiblum. My passion is drawing and illustration because it brings the creative images in my mind to life.
I grew up in Evergreen, Colorado. After graduating Evergreen High School I went straight to Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Right from the start I knew my major, art. I switched to the graphic design option after my first lesson on the computer because it felt like the gateway to a much bigger world of art!
I've always dreamed of becoming a character design artist or illustrator. My final year of middle school leading into my freshman year of high school I stumbled upon the wonderful world of Japanese animation. I started drawing those quirky anime characters and fell in love with the style and, more than that, I also started to become a huge fan of Japanese culture. A new dream, more like a goal, came to mind. Why not go to Japan? So I did.
After graduating college, many opportunities to travel came my way. Not only to Japan, twice now, but also to London and Edinburgh. I consider traveling to be the most important thing to do for a creative mind. You have to get out of your comfort zone and explore. New experiences and life lessons makes a good artist!
After traveling, many new opportunities and pathways opened up before me. While in Japan I learned many new forms of art including film, food, and flower arranging. In London I worked on a farm raising sheep, chickens, vegetables, and had to live a very rustic lifestyle. While this wasn't particularly artistic, it was fantastically inspirational, as was Edinburgh! I also lived in New York City for two years pursuing internships so that I could learn how to create the art I love, but this time in a professional setting. And what's more legit than doing Graphic Design in New York City?
Traveling has had an amazing effect on my artwork. I feel like my style has become a mix of all the places I've been, the people I've met, and the experiences I've had. Because of my love for Japan and that original inspiration from anime all those years ago I admit my personal designs have a heavy anime influence. This is not to say it's my only style! I also like to draw pencil sketches of realistic portraits and my Graphic Design projects are very professional and can be molded to fit the company.
I have a strong desire to learn and create, just like I did since I was very young, and I will always strive to make my designs bigger and better than they were the year before. Art is my life and I intend to pursue it until the end.
